You learn to stay tuned to your own inner current — the timing of your breath, the ripple traveling from feet through ankles through hips — while remaining in open, responsive relationship with the outer waves: the music, the people in the room, and the larger energies of the city and the earth. Fixing too hard on either one pulls you off balance; holding both at once is the practice.
Movement initiates incrementally from the toes and tail, travels through the fluid body joint by joint, and gradually opens into a full-body flow.
