The second in a series on safety, this live Inner Rhythms meditation with Mariane Karou works with steadiness as the primary means of generating a felt sense of safety in the nervous system. The practice opens with the eyes — letting them rest and float naturally inside the eye sockets, observing how even the smallest movement there ripples through the entire body. Breath is then drawn up through the nasal passages to circulate all around the eyes, creating clarity and an open energetic pathway. From there the meditation focuses on the smooth, fluid transition between each inhale and exhale: your breath moving steadily, without rushing or hesitating, from one cycle to the next. It is precisely this capacity for fluid, unhurried transitions — in breath, and by extension in all of life — that the session identifies as the foundation of adaptability, resilience, and safety.
