A Ride the Wave class with Tierra Karou, continuing August's theme of the responsive leader and the art of giving and receiving feedback. The teaching arrives mid-class in Tierra's own words: feedback is food — our number one nutrient, always here around us, from our own bodies and from each other — and wherever you block it, you are blocking being fed. Receiving it takes a body that is open, willing to feel exposed, and able to back itself up. You begin standing, grounding down through the feet and letting the breath fill the whole body, bringing energy through with sound. A seated meditation then drops into the spine — the axis of the earth — filling out the back body until you can feel your own back. From there the movement flows outward through chest, belly, hips and legs into a spoken yes-and-no boundary practice: ultimate love, as Tierra puts it, is being able to say yes and say no. Recorded live online, chat call-outs and all.
