"I was charged twice"
A duplicate-looking charge is usually a pending bank authorization. Here is how to tell.
Last updated
If you see two charges from Dance Alive on the same day, it's usually one of two things.
Most common: pending authorization
When you sign up, your bank often shows TWO entries:
- A small pending authorization (sometimes $1, sometimes the full amount)
- The actual charge that posts a day or two later
The pending one disappears within 3-7 business days. Only one charge actually goes through. This is normal bank behavior, not something we control.
Less common: a real duplicate
If both charges stay on your statement after a week, that's worth investigating. Contact us with:
- The dates and amounts of both charges
- The last four digits of the card
- The email on your Dance Alive account
We don't issue refunds for the current billing period as a rule, but if something genuinely went wrong on our side, we'll sort it out.
Workshop charges
If one of the charges is from Mindbody and the other is from Stripe, they're for different things — your streaming membership comes from Stripe, while workshops, intensives, and drop-in classes are billed by Mindbody. See How Stripe and Mindbody billing work together.
