How Stripe and Mindbody billing work together
Why some charges come from Stripe and others from Mindbody, and where to manage each.
Last updated
Dance Alive uses two billing systems behind the scenes. Knowing which is which makes it easy to find a charge, update a payment method, or cancel the right thing.
Two billing surfaces
| What you bought | Billed by | Where to manage it |
|---|---|---|
| Streaming membership (Movement, Meditation, All Access) | Stripe | Account → Manage Subscription |
| Weekly class booked in the app (you're an active member) | Stripe | Already covered by your membership — no separate charge |
| Drop-in Weekly class (you're not a streaming member) | Mindbody | On the Mindbody site |
| Workshops + Intensives (any user) | Mindbody | On the Mindbody site |
Why two systems
- Stripe handles recurring streaming-membership subscriptions, card management, and renewals. That's all the predictable monthly or yearly money.
- Mindbody handles one-off purchases — drop-in passes, workshops, intensives — and is also the source of truth for in-studio membership records.
You may have charges from both at the same time. That's normal and expected.
How to manage each
Streaming membership (Stripe)
- Sign in and open Account
- Tap Manage Subscription — opens your Stripe subscription portal
- From there you can cancel, update your card, view invoices, or change plan
See How to cancel your membership for the cancel walkthrough.
Workshops, intensives, and drop-ins (Mindbody)
Use the Mindbody site (the same account you sign in to Dance Alive with). Receipts, refunds, and cancellations for these items live there.
When in doubt
If you see a charge and can't tell which system it's from, the descriptor on your card statement will usually say so. If you still can't figure it out, contact us with the charge date and amount.
